Accessibility Statement

The Embassy of the Republic of Sudan is committed to ensuring that all citizens can access its digital platform, including those with disabilities.

Last updated: September 17, 2026

1. Contrast and Colors

The platform is designed with a complete color system (navy/gold) with high contrast meeting WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. Dark mode is carefully designed — not just an inverted palette. Users can switch between light and dark mode via the theme toggle at the top of the page.

2. Keyboard Navigation

All interactive features on the platform are accessible via keyboard only. We use clear focus indicators, elements can be navigated with Tab, and activated with Enter or Space. Dropdowns and dialogs can be closed with Escape.

3. Screen Readers

The platform is built with proper HTML semantics (header, nav, main, section, article). All images have descriptive alt text. Form fields have properly associated labels. Dynamic states (loading, success, error) are announced via appropriate ARIA attributes.

4. Forms and Validation

All forms use real-time validation with clear, bilingual error messages. Required fields are marked with (*). Error messages appear near the relevant field and are announced to screen readers. Color alone is never used to convey information.

5. Language and Direction Support

The platform is fully bilingual (English and Arabic) with complete RTL (right-to-left) support. Icons, layout, and navigation change correctly when switching between languages. Language preference is saved locally.

6. Commitment and Continuous Improvement

We are committed to WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. We conduct regular accessibility reviews and welcome user feedback. If you encounter any accessibility barrier, please report it via "Report a Problem" or contact us directly.
